What is the purpose of this database?
The Dobadriver site gives all Australians the ability to register a complaint in the form of a record of an event to a database which in turn is available for everyone to access at anytime from the Internet.
Apart from checking for inappropriate language the incident description entered is passed straight through to the site as is where it is presented for all to see.
What type of complaint can I include on the database?
They can be of an unacceptable event witnessed whilst driving on our roads, on any waterways, rivers, beaches etc. Some examples can be accessed from the 'Information' tab at the top of this page.
Please be sure you don't make a false report of an incident to Dobadriver, just the same as you would not make a false report to the Police.
Who is able to see the report I have made to 'Dobadriver.com'?
Anyone who has a computer, phone, I-Pad or the like with Internet access can view the reports.
This may include the Police, Bosses, future Bosses, family members, girlfriends, boyfriends etc...etc..
Makes you want to behave yourself when out in public doesn't it?
.........as everyone should and most do!
Who can make a report to Dobadriver.com?
Anyone who has a computer, phone, I-Pad or the like with Internet access can report inappropriate and reckless behaviour. Those without access to the Internet can record the details on paper or the like and approach a friend or family to make the report to Dobadriver when convenient.
Can I report an incident that I see and am not involved in?
By all means, anyone who has a concern regarding the ongoing blatant disregard for the rules of the road and waterways by other users should take down the details, and when convenient, go to the site at www.dobadriver.com' and fill out the form accessed from the 'Make a Report' button. A prime example of an event which you are not involved would be the witnessing of hooning and street racing where all you need to do is take note of the vehicle/s involved and make a report for all to see. (you may also report it to the Police)
How should I take down the details of an incident at the time of the event?
Always with safety in mind, record the incident either by writing the details on a piece of paper, use the Proformas available here at Dobadriver which may be kept in the glovebox, use your mobile phone to record voice details (not while driving), ask your passenger to get the details or by any other means you may think of (as long as you do it safely).
Can I report general suspicious behaviour to Dobadriver?
Absolutely, as long as the details are accurate and show sufficient information. Better to report it rather than the information being lost forever. It is advisable to make note of suspicious behaviour as close to the time it occurs rather than to try to remember the details at a later date when recollection is somewhat vague. There are also other facilities for reporting such as the Police and for other examples of what to report, go to theAFP site.
Does Dobadriver change my report in any way prior to it appearing on the Internet?
No, apart from checking for innapropriate language the reports are presented on the site as entered by you without any involvement from us here at Dobadriver. (consider Dobadriver to be an event notepad)
All statistical indicators are calculated and presented according to the currently available data each time the information is downloaded.
